Robert Ryman, Used Paint is part of a series of short poetry books, appropriated from different painter’s publications.

I chose to simply isolate, in these catalogues, the technical description of every painting reproduced. 
For Robert Ryman – but not only –, the reflexion on the means of painting forces the curators and editors to lengthly describe the techniques and materials at use, and pushes languages to its limits. 

To underline this aspect, these little pieces of literature were transposed into the format of poetry books.
